Review of Economic Studies is happy to announce the launch of the new journal, Review of Economic Studies: Insights. This is an open-access, general-interest economics journal that will publish short papers with a fast review process and accept/reject decisions.
We aim to publish papers of the same quality as those in the Review of Economic Studies, but that develop a significant analysis or key finding best in a short-paper format. Thus, the goal is to publish short papers and do it fast.
The journal will publish two types of papers: 1) “Insights”; in an already familiar format of up to 6,000 words and 5 exhibits that rigorously develop a key insight; and 2) “Communications” of up to 2,000 words and 2 exhibits that even more concisely address timely issues.
We hope this new journal will provide additional incentives for researchers to write papers in
a more succinct format. We welcome submissions in all fields of economics that fit this
